2018: A Year in Review

Dapper Day 1 Fall 2018

Looking back on 2018, I’d say it was definitely the year of self-care for me. Recovering from loss played a big role in how I took care of myself throughout the year. This was also the first full year in our new home and I took full advantage of it, between hosting a ton of get-togethers and tackling several major projects. Towards the end of the year things winded down a bit and while we didn’t end the year with our usual party, we ended it happily relaxing. ๐Ÿ˜Š

  • Started planning our kitchen remodel and ordered new cabinets at IKEA
    Joshua ordering our kitchen
  • Hosted a Mother’s Day dinner for my mom

  • My sister moved in with us after her lease was up at her apartment. This was to help her out until she moved to San Diego.
  • We completely demoed our kitchen over Memorial Day weekend

  • Had our company holiday party at The Kitchen. Not only was the experience itself amazing, but their website is one of the first I worked on when I started at Three29.

  • The site design I did for Ella Dining Room & Bar went live
  • My in-laws came into town a few days before Christmas, so we had an early Christmas get-together. We invited all the parents and had a delicious build-your-own chili bar.
    And presents under the tree
  • I hosted a “Friends Christmas” on Christmas Eve Eve where we had another chili bar and got to exchange gifts with our friends. It was a great way to hang out with people right before the holidays.
    All of Us
  • Hosted my parents, uncle, and cousins for Christmas

  • Saw Mary Poppins Returns
  • Read Girl, Wash Your Face: Stop Believing the Lies About Who You Are so You Can Become Who You Were Meant to Be
  • My sis and I had brunch with our dad. He normally tries to have lunch with us 1:1 on his winter break but due to our schedules it was easier for us to have a nice brunch together. We went to a local place call Friends With Benedicts.

  • We had our first ultrasound at 6 six weeks. It was such a relief to see and hear our little girl’s heartbeat! ๐Ÿ’—

  • Ended the year chillaxing and binge-watching The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. After three get-togethers in one week, we were just too burnt out to host our annual New Years party.

I am just in awe with how much you managed to do this past year. I am especially happy with how much you managed to do for yourself. It is so so important that we find the time to are for ourselves in these moments. You really inspired me to do more in 2019!

I hope that this years list of accomplishments is as long and more fulfilling (if that is even possible based on this amazing list!).
