In the blink of an eye, we’re already at two years in our home. The first year was spent getting settled and working on a ton of projects. While we continued projects into this year, our home has evolved to accommodate our precious baby! Not a day goes by that I am not super grateful for our home and even more so now that we got to bring our first baby home to it. Here’s a look at what it looked like the day we bought it versus its current state.
Last Christmas I added these pre-lit faux ball trees and decided to keep them up year-round. I also added a couple of wreaths to the door, and my sister made a delightful sign by our doorbell.
This past year we’ve finally given the entry and the front living room a little love. I picked up this small dresser awhile back at a thrift store and at first, I didn’t know what to do with it. It’s replaced the old bookshelf I used to have in the entry and we added a mirror.
Now being a dumping ground for all kinds of stuff I got motivated this year to finally do something with this space. I turned it into a small sitting room that works both year-round and when there is a Christmas tree. Since we combined offices and got a new desk, my old one now hangs out here as well. I’m still working on styling this space, and eventually, I’d like to replace the love seat.
Still going strong!
A year with our kitchen remodel and NO regrets! We’ve changed up a couple of small things on the counter like the knife block, dish rack, and coffee maker, but otherwise, things are relatively the same.
We finally got going on the wall project Now planning it for over a year. All that’s left is finishing the top trim, installing the left speaker, and putting up two white floating shelves to the right of the TV. It’s so close to being done, and I’m hoping it will be finished by the end of this year. π€πΌ
I am long overdue for a full reveal post, so for now, here is a sneak peek.
I added privacy film to the window, some new artwork, a basket for the toilet paper, and a smaller basket above the toilet. I’ve already got ideas for a phase two π€« that involve painting the cabinet, new countertop, and different light fixtures/mirror, but that’s a 2020 project at the very earliest.
The biggest change here is that we’re sharing our room with Lily so we rearranged the sitting area to make room for her bassinet and monitor. I’d also say the level of woo-woo has gradually grown on my dresser as well.
We installed a heated towel rack, removed the heavy dark blinds, and put up privacy film on the windows. It’s so much brighter and airy in here now! ONE day we’ll replace the fixtures and the countertop. ππΌ I did give the WC some attention during my postpartum nesting phase by adding some shelving and giving my feminine care products a nicer looking home.
Our closet got a full remodel earlier this year, and I still need to take pictures and do a reveal post. π€¦π»ββοΈ Here’s a taste of what it looks like.
I decided to bring some color in the form of a new shower curtain and bath mat. It’s also become Lily’s bathroom with the addition of all her bath stuff and bottle stuff. Privacy film was added to the window as well.
Well it happened! This room became a nursery during the Spring ORC!
Since our original guest room became a nursery, we turned Joshua’s office into the new guest room and then combined his office with mine. We also replaced the closet doors mirrored ones. Future plans include remodeling the closet along with styling the room a bit more.
We decided to combine offices so we could have a functioning guest room. This included brand new desks for the both of us as well as additional shelving and rearranging of furniture.
Pretty much stayed the same. We had to toss out the rug but beyond that no changes here. Hopefully, landscape lighting is on our 2020 project list.
