Portfolio I/Portfolio II are required classes students take their last quarter right before they graduate. If you’re in the associates program, Portfolio I is the only one you take. If you’re in the bachelor’s program, you take both with Portfolio II during your last quarter. Both prepare you to get everything you need in order to participate in the end-of-the-quarter Portfolio Show where graduating students display their best work in hopes of getting hired.
My Portfolio I class was combined with Portfolio II, so I was able to get a glimpse of what I would have to be preparing for when I graduate. In other words, for me it was a test run. So I got to practice putting my business package together as well as my web site. I also got plenty of time to come up with the new Lovely Geek logo. Because I wasn’t graduating yet, I spent most of my time working on my logo, which is why by the time the quarter was over I wasn’t quite ready to reveal my site to the public.
Still I managed to put together a decent business package in the end, one which is currently being used as an example for other Portfolio classes.
Will this be the same when I graduate in June of 2012? Probably not. I intend to push the design further. 🙂
