This year I had the privilege of hosting my family for Easter in our lovely new home.
Our Easter weekend kicked off Saturday evening in which Joshua and I attended service at the church Dani had been going to prior to us moving. After service, we continued the tradition established by Joshua’s adopted parents of going to Red Robin for dinner.
The weather was so nice that I was determined to have Easter dinner out on the patio. Our local Target had a patio dining set we’d be eyeing for awhile, so we picked it up Friday night in order to have it set up by Sunday.
We also got the rug from the picture above along with a few lounge chairs for by the pool. The sales associates that helped bring the furniture out to our car were impressed because we came prepared with Joshua’s trailer. 😆💪🏼
On Easter Sunday we spent the day cleaning and prepping for dinner. We cleaned up the patio and got the furniture all set up. Later in the afternoon I started cooking dinner and prepping appetizers. I made my Easter deviled eggs and the leg-of-lamb with roasted vegetables. Dani cooked up a delicious version of Brussels Sprouts with bacon, and my dad brought sauteed spinach.
My uncle and one of my cousins joined us for dinner, and they brought the fixings to make strawberry shortcakes for dessert. I made my own shortcake ahead of time, and I used So Delicious Dairy Free Cocowhip in place of whipped cream.
After dinner we introduced my mom and cousin to the game of Apples to Apples. It was a lot of fun and a great way to wrap up a nice and relaxing holiday.
Don’t let that frown fool you! He had a good time too! 😂
