Yesterday I picked up some adorable wall art at TJ Maxx thus completing our master bedroom.
This room was probably one of the dirtiest because of the smoke stains from when my Nana would smoke in there. The hardest part about transforming this room was getting rid of the smell; her favorite perfume was Passions by Elizabeth Taylor and the bedroom (as well as the rest of the house) wreaked of the scent!
The chair in the corner is one of two Chinese chairs my Mormor gave me when we first moved into the duplex; the other chair is living in the guest room. The other photo shows Joshua’s side of the bed and the door leading to the master bathroom.
Amongst the goodies that occupy the top of my MALM dresser is a white owl lamp I acquired from my Nana and a few other odds and ends. I fell in love with that mirrored jewelry box the moment I saw it; it houses my my jewelry and my hair ties. Sadly I have more hair ties than I do jewelry, and what little jewelry I do have is not worth a penny (sorry potential burglars).
Originally I was going to use an old small desk of my Nana’s as a vanity next to the closet, but the space issue and trouble finding a seat to go with it led me to donating the desk. I put a full length mirror up instead (which is lot easier to use than the one on the bathroom door) and my footstool below, which Bella currently occupies when she’s not in the cat bed below the window. The curtains are from my duplex and were used in the living room; I can’t remember if my Mormor gave them to me or Crazy Lady left them behind, but either way they work out perfectly!
It has come a long way! We began painting at the end of May and it wasn’t until yesterday that I deemed it 100% complete.
