My lifestyle photo from the Three29 website

Hello! I’m Cristina, the designer and owner behind The Lovely Geek.

I’m the oldest of two and the geek of the family. I grew up in Northern California, starting in the foothills then moving to the Bay Area for a couple of years only to make my way back to the foothills where I currently call home.

I’m married to an awesome guy named Joshua, and we tied the knot on our six-year dating anniversary in November 2010. We live with our two dogs, Tucker and Mr. Big, and two cats, Izzie and Bella. We’ve been trying to start a family since 2014, and it’s been a rollercoaster due to my diagnosis of PCOS in 2015 and various other health challenges along the way. We’re still optimistic and hopeful we can make it happen!

I’m a freelance designer, front-end developer, and digital marketer. I’ve been blogging since 2002 before it became it a thing and have blogged at various domains over the years, designing and coding my own sites in the process. I love all things web design (and WordPress) and have my Bachelor’s of Science in Web Design & Interactive Media from The Art Institute of California – Sacramento. I get teased as a workaholic, but really I just love what I do!

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending my free time blogging and decorating/organizing my home. I love daydreaming about redesigning old spaces, spending hours on Pinterest, perusing the bedding/home décor aisles of Target when I should be grocery shopping, and looking for excuses to visit IKEA or buy more Philips Hue lightbulbs.

The Lovely Geek

The Lovely Geek is a lifestyle blog and space for me to share my life and everything in it whether it’s what’s happening during the week, the projects I’m working on in my house, beauty products I’m using, or what I’m geeking out over.

The Lovely Geek is my way of merging the girlie-girl and the geeky girl through design, decor, and beauty.

Sometimes… geeks can be chic.
