Last weekend I went to the wedding reception of a long-time friend of mine, Kelli. We’ve been friends for a really long time – since middle school when we both were attending Sugarloaf. When I last saw her it was on my honeymoon in Florida. She and her hubby (at the the time boyfriend) had breakfast with us on our last morning before we flew back home to California.
Five years later they tied the knot! They had their official wedding back in February and did a reception out here for the family and friends in California. Had a lot of fun and it was great catching up!
A couple other noteworthy things: I saw Jurassic World (good film, even if it did feel a little too much like the first), and I’ve also been sick with a cold.
Because of it being the week leading up to 4th of July I ended up doing a couple Independence Day related tasks.
I designed some graphics for Mikuni Sushi:
And I designed the graphics and eBlast for our company. We sent this out letting our clients know we would be closed Friday.
Tuesday night we all went to a River Cats game! My boss likes to do end-of-the-quarter team events, so this time we went to a ball-game. Even though it was hot and I was on my first day of my cold, I had a really great hanging out with everyone and getting to know them a bit more. I’m really happy to be working with such an awesome and nice group of people.
Since I had Friday off from work, I got a chance to work on the design for The Lovely Geek. I decided on my two main typefaces, got my moodboard about 95% done, and the homepage design started. Finally making some progress!
