It’s funny looking back at where Lily was at two months and seeing a lot of similarities with Paul. Just like her, he’s outgrown his newborn clothes and is working his way through his 0-3 month clothing. He’s growing and changing every day. Speaking of change, his eye color is looking like it’s brown instead of dark blue like I initially thought when he was born. If Lily is a clone of Joshua then Paul definitely got my Italian features.
Paul officially sleeps through the night, and I can’t tell you how grateful we are. We just hope it lasts! 🤞🏼 He gets a dream feed around 11 pm before we go to bed, and then he’s good until we all wake up between 5:30 am and 6:30 am.
He’s currently sleeping in the SNOO in our bedroom. We’ve already had to put him in the medium size sleep sack because his little arm was constantly getting free. He’s a strong little dude!
I’m still nursing/pumping, but we’re still primarily formula because my supply volume can’t match what he needs to be exclusively breastfed. I’m working very hard to keep my supply going. I’ll usually pump first thing in the morning, anytime during the day when he is napping, and one more time before bed. Otherwise, I’m nursing him and/or formula feeding him.
Joshua officially went back to work after spending six weeks at home with us. It was such a special time for our family because we got to bond and grow so much. Joshua taking the full paternity leave, instead of breaking it up as he did with Lily, also helped us get in a good routine; I think it definitely set me up for success now being on my own during the day.
He also took the opportunity of being off from work to get a vasectomy, so the factory is officially closed! No more babies for us. We feel very fortunate to have been able to have two, especially one of each, but we’re certain two is the number that completes our family. It’s been bittersweet closing that chapter of my life.
As for me, adjusting to looking after two littles has been challenging, to say the least, and leaves me completely drained by the end of the day. With the way Paul naps, the only time I have to myself kid-free is when they both go to bed at night or during Lily’s nap times when Joshua is home. It’s tough trying to balance looking after two under two, getting stuff done around the house, and trying to run a business (and trying to decide which direction to take it). All I can do is handle things one day at a time, one kid at a time.
Yeti Mug – I got one of these for Joshua for Father’s Day and ended up snagging one for myself. Hot coffee is a luxury and the Yeti keeps it hot for much longer.
Hofish Nursing Bras – I got this 3-pack of nursing bras for only $30! They’re super comfy and work perfectly for both nursing and my Elvie pump.
