This little dude just keeps growing. He’s grown out of his 0-3 month clothes and is now flirting with some of his 6-9 month clothes, mainly because he’s a long baby!
He’s also a super happy baby, and we can’t get enough of his smiles and giggles. Lily was so serious and you had to REALLY work for a smile whereas this guy smiles if you make eye contact. I love it!
Paul has been a great nighttime sleeper from day one, but in order to help with his naps during the day, I decided to set up our SlumberPod to see if that would help. Despite keeping the blinds closed it still manages to get pretty bright in our bedroom, so it’s hard to give him that darkness he needs for adequate sleep. It definitely helped and now he’s doing much better with napping.
Everything was going well for a couple of weeks until we started experiencing the 4 month sleep regression. Sleep has started to not be as consistently good as it has been. However, I remember when we hit this phase with Lily it was like this until we transitioned from the SNOO to the crib. Then sleep became much better. So that’s the next thing we’ll be working on.
Feeding is no different than it was last month. I’m still nursing/pumping and formula feeding. While my supply isn’t still enough to be exclusive it’s still consistent and doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. It was such a challenge to nurse Lily, and while I’m grateful I could for a short time, each day that I get to with Paul is such a blessing.
Joshua had to go out of town for work, so I got to be a single parent for four days. It wasn’t as tough as I initially expected it to be, but boy do I have so much respect for the single parents that do this all the time. Not to mention it makes me so grateful to have a partner when he is here.
Aside from that, we’ve all settled into a good day-to-day routine, and now things seem less overwhelming. It probably helps that Lily’s tantrums are calming down and she’s learning how to use her words for feelings as opposed to instant screaming. 😂
As each month goes by I feel so much gratitude. Joshua and I constantly look at each other and can’t believe this is our life now, especially given the journey to get to them. My two littles are growing happy and healthy, and our family feels truly complete.
SlumberPod – We got this for Lily when we were traveling. It’s a little blackout tent designed to go over your crib/bassinet so that no matter the lighting conditions it’s dark for them. Perfect for hotel rooms. We’re not traveling and have zero intention to for probably the next couple of years, so I figured might as well get some use and set it up in our bedroom.
SKIP*HOP® Silver Lining Cloud Activity Gym – Baby boy loves chilling on this mat. He loves being able to stretch out and explore, and since I keep it on the floor next to me in the office it allows him to look up at me which he also loves.
