I was hoping by the time Paul’s 11-month update came around he’d be crawling, but he’s not quite there yet. He’s been busy practicing on all fours and knows how to scootch himself forward – it’s just a matter of putting it all together. He’ll get there!
It’s been bittersweet closing out this final month of infancy knowing he’ll be considered a toddler on his birthday. He still feels very much like a baby, and I’m soaking it all in while I still can. 💙
Many people have asked me how I’ve been doing with the nationwide formula shortage, and overall we’re hanging in there. We’re very fortunate for a few reasons.
Paul’s appetite is nowhere near what Lily’s was at this age so he’s not drinking as much formula. He has about six to eight ounces three times a day plus solids at lunch and dinner. Paul is also a month away from turning one which is when I can start weaning him off formula and switch him to toddler formula or regular milk if I choose.
I’ve always gotten my formula (Happy Baby Organics) via Amazon’s Subscribe & Save. If I needed extra I used to have zero issues getting it locally from places like Target, Whole Foods, or a few other stores. I accidentally doubled up when I updated my subscription last month to switch brands, but it worked out in my favor because I have enough to get me through next month. Then I can transition him to toddler formula/milk.
Paul continues to be a rockstar sleeper. I remember around this time Lily was struggling with her morning naps, but Paul shows zero signs of being ready to drop that nap! He sleeps anywhere from 30-60 minutes in the morning while Lily and I have breakfast, and then he sleeps for about two to three hours in the afternoon. He’s in bed by 7 pm and sleeps all night waking up around 5:30-6:30 am. He loves his sleep!
Burt’s Bees Organic Baby Formula – February was the last time I was able to get my usual brand of formula and since then I switched to Burt’s Bees. Paul handled the switch like it was nothing, and it’s been a nice alternative for the few months he’s been on it. They have gentle/sensitive versions too making it a great replacement for Happy Baby if needed.
Pantone Box of Color Baby Board Books – Paul is very into books with texture and bright colors, and this set of books fits the bill perfectly. They used to be Lily’s so they’re a little worn, but that doesn’t stop him. He loves holding the books on his own and turning the pages. And of course, the designer side of me loves that they’re Pantone. 🤓
