Typography I – Traditional

typography scribbles

fs131 process book for typography i My first but certainly not my last Typography class was a big eye-opener about type as well as design in general. In addition to all the type studies we did (see process book below) we did a fascinating exercise in which we brought in two bags: one that used good type and one that used no-so-good type. It turned into a lecture about designing for the right audience.

The process manual really speaks for itself. It shows you everything I’ve done. Except the shopping bag project.

This is how I started the first day of class.

I had no idea that just from scribbling with sticks I’d learn as much as I did. Oh and that stick is in the hard copy of the process manual.
