So, the latest with my Nana: I visited her on Saturday afternoon along with my mom, sis, and Joshua. She opened her eyes, but she was under heavy sedation so I don’t know if she’ll even remember we were there. Still, I was able to tell her how much I loved her; I held her hand, told her I was sorry for any pain I caused her, and cried a lot. Seeing her hooked up to so many different tubes and not be able to do anything on her own was very hard. I kept wondering if I would ever feel one of her warm hugs again.
Sunday morning she went in for an exploratory surgery. The doctor did some more patching up of the intestines and patched up part of her stomach, but they’re still flushing bacteria out. She’s going to be in the hospital for awhile as they monitor her progress. Whether or not the incisions in her intestines heal will determine what happens next. All we can do is pray for good healing.
