Happy Thanksgiving! Today I hosted my first Thanksgiving at my new house, and it went very well.
Joshua, Dani, and I watched the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade throughout the morning while we cleaned the house. I put the turkey in the oven around noon and began working on the stuffing and mashed potatoes. Dani and I made one more grocery run before everyone came over.
For appetizers, we had shrimp cocktail, baked brie with crackers, and clam dip with chips. I was so busy in the kitchen that I barely got to enjoy them, but luckily my mom brought me plate.
Dinner itself started promptly at 4pm. I stuffed the turkey with apples and cooked it in champagne; it turned out delicious! My stuffing was a yummy Weight Watchers recipe, and I made crockpot mashed potatoes. Everything was so tasty!
After dinner, Joshua’s parents and grandparents stopped by for a visit and some pie. It was really nice to have my parents, sister, grandpa, uncle, and extended family all there for a wonderful holiday. I have a LOT to be grateful for!
