How are we half a year already? My precious little girl is growing so fast! 😭 I just boxed up all of her 3-6 months clothes because my child is a six-month-old trapped in the body of a nine-month-old. She’s rocking clothes 9-12 month clothes these days and is a whopping 25 lbs! Girlfriend is GROWING! I wouldn’t have it any other way though. 😌
The big milestone of the month is she can roll over from her tummy to her back. She hasn’t quite got the other way yet, but considering how much she is working on her “happy baby” pose, I’d say we’re getting close. She’s still not crawling yet, but she has figured out how to scoot.
We put her in the middle of the crib at night, so needless to say we were quite surprised when we woke up to find her in the far upper corner. 🤣 Now we’ve started putting near the foot of the crib so when she scoots at night she’ll be closer to where is suppose to be instead of all the way up at the head.
We finally got naps nailed down. 🙌🏼 Everyday is different, though. Somedays she’ll sleep for 90 mins both in the morning and the afternoon, other days like last week she’ll sleep for only 30 mins. We’ve got a pretty good schedule, and she is able to put herself to sleep instead of falling asleep only on me. I have to tell you, we are so lucky with her sleep though. She sleeps all through the night and wakes up between 5:30 AM and 6:30 AM which is basically around the time we get up anyway. She’s a little rockstar!
We’re continuing to give her solids, and she loves everything we’ve given her so far. I even made some homemade baby food which went over really well, so as I finish up the last of our store-bought jars I’m going to transition to making all her food.
She’s still teething and wants to grab and chew on everything. We’re also in the phase of dropping everything on the ground that Mama gives to her, so that keeps me busy. 😂 I love watching her personality evolve day-by-day. It’s such an exciting time, and I am so glad I get to be here for all of it.
SlumberPod – At the end of January we took our first trip without the SNOO, and I’ll admit I was a little nervous. Around this time I was sleep training her for naps and during my research, I discovered the SlumberPod which is basically a little blackout tent designed to go over the crib. I like this one because not only is it designed to fit over a variety of cribs/bassinets/playard but it also has a pocket for a baby monitor. This whole setup worked out perfectly for us because we were all staying in my sister’s living room and this allowed us to keep the light on while she slept soundly.
Marpac Rohm Portable White Noise Machine – So many bloggers/influencers recommended this portable sound machine! I got it for our trip and popped it into the pocket on the side of our playard. This paired with the SlumberPod provided the optimal sleep setup for Lily.
Portable Baby Travel Window Blackout Shade – I use this both at home and when we travel. It’s a blackout shade that comes with suction cups so you can put it up on any window. I use it in the nursery to help with naps.
