I’m sitting here in my PJs curled up on the couch with my laptop and a cup of coffee watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, surrounded by 3 out of 4 animals. In a few hours, I’ll be getting started on the turkey and all the fixings. I’m excited to be hosting my first Thanksgiving in our new house.
Despite the sadness that this holiday has brought up the last couple years, I can honestly say that I’m in a much better place.
Don’t get me wrong, it hasn’t been easy getting there. Looking back on even last year’s Thanksgiving I can remember the mental headspace I was in. Comparing that to how I am feeling this morning, I have come such a LONG way. I honestly didn’t know if I could ever feel this way. When you’re in the dark it’s hard to see the light.
Sure, there’s still no baby, the source of my sadness these past few years. But there are many blessings, and on this day of gratitude, I am so, SO thankful. 💕
