After taking a week-long break from painting we were back it over the weekend. We’re having a housewarming party in two weeks, so the goal is to get as much painted as possible.
First off, I finished the painting in the master suite. The master bathroom was the last part of the suite that needed to be painted.
We still have to finish putting in new faucets and fixtures, but the fresh coat of paint alone has made quite a difference.
While I was working on the bathroom, Joshua was busy working on the dining room. The dining room set was taking up a good chunk of space in the garage, so we were motivated to get the room done and the furniture in. Plus, we had family over yesterday and they needed a place to sit comfortably.
I am so pleased with how the dining room turned out! Joshua wasn’t too sure about the George Nelson Bubble Lamp at first, but once he saw it tied in with the furniture and décor he could see why I love it so much!
The dining room furniture belonged to my grandparents who passed it on to my parents. My parents had planned on giving the set to Joshua & I once we got our own house; that happened sooner than expected due to my parents finding a set they fell in love with. Shortly after we acquired the dining set we bought a house, so in the end it all worked out.
To wrap up the weekend, I began prepping what will be my office room. I tackled the most tedious part last night, which was getting the wallpaper border off.
I scraped, sanded and primed, so when I get home tonight I can begin the painting!
