After what feels like years of attempting to make progress on the backyard we are finally making it happen. For realz. Seriously.
Last week Joshua’s dad (who is a professional landscaper) came by to talk us through our ideas and give us a bid. We’re not looking for anything fancy – really we’re just looking for very simple, clean, and low maintenance. My inspiration is my Aunt Patty and Uncle Steve’s backyard at their Tahoe house:
Since our New Year’s party, we’ve kinda let the yard go, so now that it’s been like spring lately the yard just grew.
We also plan to relocate the fire pit. We’re tearing out the planter boxes (they’re termite infested and falling apart), putting in gravel, and creating our new fire pit there. These photos are what sparked the idea…
There’s more seating in that area of the yard we plan to move it to, so I think it will work out better in the long run. I’m really excited to see how the next couple of weeks progress.
